In 2010, exploring the Yemenite island of Socotra, we discover by chance, the dhows, huge wooden ships, which remain the last heirs of the secular spice trade between Oriental Africa, Arabia and Western India.
We decide to trace their route to India where they are said to be built. With this aim in mind, we slowly follow the Arabian coast, going through Yemen, the Sultanate of Oman, and we reach Dubai. From there, we board a cargo and cross the Indian Ocean in order to reach Mumbaï where, by motorbike and after six months of an amazing adventure, we, at last, discover the fabulous shipyards of the dhows...
When visiting the Yemenite Island of Socotra, we discover by chance the dhows. Our curiosity is aroused by the very peculiar characteristics of these huge ships,
so we decide to trace their route to India where they are said to be built.
